The training was held digitally and featured speakers from the "Universidad Don Bosco" of El Salvador and the Salesian University of Argentina, who addressed the following topics:
- Accompanying the work of those who educate, mental health and socio-emotional development, by Dr. Jorge Molina, from the UDB. The speaker on the occasion emphasized that "mental health is not a goal, it is a path, a construction and deconstruction that happens in daily life."
- Integral health, from conscious practices to chosen habits. On the occasion, Adrián Baraibar and Mariana Larralde, from the Salesian University of Argentina, stressed that "of course, we are promoters of health for others, but we must start with ourselves first."
About 100 educators working in the 18 provinces on the continent that are part of RASS took part in the digital training space. During the two sessions, the "participatory workshop" methodology was applied, which encouraged the sharing of participants' experiences and reflections.
In the last session of the seminar, a special event was held to present awards to each of the educators who have completed 20 or more years of service in Salesian works and social services in America. The purpose of this tribute was to celebrate the dedication, commitment and vocation of those who dedicate their lives to the service of America's children, adolescents and youth. Sixty educators from the Provinces of Central America, the Antilles, Venezuela, Ecuador and Paraguay were honored in this way.
Iván Troya, from the Province of Ecuador, was the educator awarded with the most years of service, an impressive 37, all dedicated to the beneficiaries of the "Proyecto Salesiano Ecuador" Foundation - North Zone.
"We are happy to promote these kinds of trainings and tributes, because they are a valuable contribution to strengthening the human talents of our Salesian Family, and a great opportunity to join forces and improve the quality of care we provide to children, adolescents and youth in vulnerable situations in America," commented RASS officials.
