Meruri, Brazil - October 2022 - Over the weekend of October 22 and 23, the Indigenous Fora of the Diocese of Barra do Garças of the Salesian presence in Meruri was held on the premises of the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - Meruri. The event was attended by more than 200 young people from different parts of the Diocese. The theme of the meeting was "And the Word became flesh" (Jn. 1:14), emphasizing the presence of God in humanity in the midst of young people, walking with young people. These were days of great animation, prayer, spirituality, and learning. During the meeting, the story of the martyrdom of the servants of God, Father Rodolfo Lunkenbein and Simão Bororo, was presented to the youth. In addition to the meeting and catechesis, the youth also had contact with the Boe-Bororo culture, learning a little about its spirituality and customs. The event concluded with the Sunday celebration of Holy Mass.
