In his homily, the Rector Major highlighted the important moments in the life of Artemide Zatti. He affirmed “Zatti faced all types of challenges in his life but was always open to God’s will and responded generously with all his heart and soul. His heart was set on the poor and the sick, and like Don Bosco, his master he decided that his life was totally for them. He was true to his conviction and strived to carry forward what he had promised with true dedication and selfless sacrifice”. He moreover added, “We have in Zatti a powerful and challenging model, who inspires us and challenges us. On the one hand he was a perfect model of a good religious and a Salesian brother, while on the other hand he was an evangelizer and a zealous apostle of the poor and the needy”.
Over 350 youth who had gathered for SYMBIOS 2022, Salesian Sisters, and lay faithful were also present for this solemn thanksgiving Eucharist, which was well accompanied with the melodious singing by the youth of Don Bosco Youth Services, Matunga. The celebration was very meaningfully organized, with a good participation from all sectors.
The Rector Major had arrived in the early hours of 21 October, at the Mumbai International Airport, and was warmly welcomed by the Provincial and his team, and with a good number of Confreres from the different houses, along with the Regional Councillor for South Asia, Fr. Biju Michael. In the morning, he had a meeting with the Provincial and his Council, while in the evening he met the Rectors and interacted with them.
