Brazil - Salesian Youth Festival brings together four thousand people
São Paulo, Brazil-October 2022-After two years without in-person meetings due to the pandemic, more than 4,000 young people attended the XXII Salesian Youth Festival (FEST) on October 8, which also featured Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). The youth shared moments of fellowship, music, theater, sports and prayer, reinforcing the Salesian charism. The evening concluded with a vigil, artistic gymnastics programs, a presentation of the story of the first Salesian coadjutor brother proclaimed a saint, Artemide Zatti, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The Mass was presided over by the Vicar of the Brazil-São Paulo Province (BSP), Fr. Cássio Rodrigo de Oliveira, who stressed the importance of bringing young people together again in presence after two years, highlighting five points from Pope Francis' post-synodal apostolic exhortation to young people, "Christus Vivit." The Provincial Vicar also thanked the presence of Mother Yvonne Reungoat, former Mother General of the FMA, Sister Helena Gesser, and Sister Alaíde Deretti.
