Vellore, India – September 3, 2022 – The Rector Major Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime left for Vellore early this morning (03.09.2022) by train to participate in the official centenary celebration of FMA in India to be held at Auxilium College, Vellore. He was given a warm welcome at the Chennai Central Station by Don Bosco Scout & Guide District Association. Rev. Dr. Fr. Thomas, District Chief commissioner along with two scout masters and 11 scouts belonging to St. Mary’s Anglo Indian Hr. Sec. School & Don Bosco Anbu Illam honoured the Rector Major. The Regional councillor for South Asia Rev. Fr. Biju Michael, The Provincial Rev. Fr. KM.Jose and his council members, and many Salesians accompanied the Rector Major to Vellore. 

Rector Major reached Vellore at 09.05 a.m. and was received with great honour at the railway station with the musical band, flag bearers, and the scouts. On his arrival at the Don Bosco School community  Rector Major was welcomed with the guard of honour. He was again welcomed at the school premises of Vellore, Gandhi Nagar with the guard of honour, band and cultural music by hundreds of students, young people and the teachers.
