RMG – Formation Sector meeting with Salesians of 37th Edition of UPS Ongoing Formation Course

(ANS - Rome) - The Formation Sector team concluded three days of formation and information with the group of Salesians from various regions attending the 37th Edition of the Ongoing Formation Course at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome. This year's group is composed of eleven Salesians from 8 different circumscriptions (ACC, AFC, ANN, ATE, BMA, INC, MEG, MOR) who experienced three moments on the specifics of the Salesian dimension in their experience: on May 10 and 11 at UPS and on May 12 at the Salesian Headquarters.

On the latter occasion, after a warm welcome, a moment of prayer was organized in the Letter from Rome chapel. Participants retraced Don Bosco's writing two days after the anniversary (May 10, 1884) through a rereading in a multi-voice dialogue mode in different languages.

Afterwards there was a meeting with the General Councilor for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho and his team; together they looked at the main processes underway as Formation Sector, in the light of the Church's journey (in particular the synod on youth and the current one on synodality) and the Rector Major's programmatic proposals for this six-year term.

Then the Eucharist was celebrated in Don Bosco's Camerette, concluding with a visit and a moment of silent prayer at the altar of the Help of Christians in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, where Don Bosco celebrated his only Mass on May 16, 1887, reliving amid tears of emotion his dream as a nine-year-old.

The day was finally crowned by a beautiful moment of fraternal agape.
