Papua New Guinea - Building a better tomorrow through competence and character

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - March 2022 - On March 30, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Boroko East, Msgr. Pedro Baquero, SDB, Bishop of the Diocese of Kerema, presided over Mass on the occasion of the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 of the "Don Bosco" Technical Institute (DBTI). The Eucharist was concelebrated by Fr Gregorio Bicomong, Superior of the Vice-Province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (PGS), Fr Roger Miranda, Rector of DBTI, and other Salesians active in the institute. The following day, Thursday, March 31, was the graduation ceremony for 139 students, postponed by one year due to the pandemic. With the theme chosen for the event "Building a Better Tomorrow through Competence and Character," the graduates were exhorted to change society for the better and to be good Christians and upright citizens.
