Bees are disappearing, and the main causes of their disappearance are the use of pesticides that has been increasing annually in Brazil, deforestation and forest fires, one of the biggest ecological problems in our country, climate change and biotic diseases.
So, the school children started to observe nature and realize that there were some "lost" swarms in the school and tried to understand why the bees are making their hives inside pillars, walls, pipes and even electrical energy panels. It was then that they were wondering how they could help them with “more appropriate houses” and discovered the urban beehive as one of the ways to preserve the species.
All groups are affected, not just people, but all living beings are under pressure and run extremely high risks with the decrease in the number of bees and their path to extinction, as they are extremely important in the cycle of the food chain. Therefore, if they become extinct, they will take all of humanity and various other forms of life with them.
List of solutions found:
- Creation of urban beehives in houses, apartments and institutions.
- Fostering awareness in the population through the encouragement of children.
- Widespread publications on the theme on social networks, the municipality's newspaper and referrals to TV.
- Partnership with students from other schools, institutions and public bodies.
- Registration in the Criativos da Escola project and in the Rainforest, so that other educational communities have access to our project.
