Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Brazil - February 2022 - Transferred from Curitiba to Jaboatão-Colônia, the new location of the novitiate of the Provinces of São Paulo (BSP), Porto Alegre (BPA) and Recife (BRE), began its activities on February 2, day of the Presentation of the Lord. The opening ceremony of the “São Sebastião” Salesian Novitiate was celebrated in the Basilica of “Our Lady Help of Christians” in the Salesian Colônia in Jaboatão dos Guararapes. It was presided over by Fr Gabriel Romero, Councilor for the America South Cone Region, in the presence of the Provincials of the Curatorium of the Novitiate, who received a group of 15 in-formation from the three Provinces. Symbolically, the book of the Constitutions passed from the hands of the Salesians of Curitiba to those of Jaboatão, followed by the presentation of the new formation team, led by the Rector and Master of Novices, Fr Carlos Junior, and of the novices: 5 from the BSP Province; 8 from the BRE Province, and 2 from the BPA.
