Fr Á.F. Artime, in his second term as Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, will present his personal life. A Spaniard from Asturias and used to being a fisherman with his father since he was a child, he had never imagined becoming a fisherman of souls. He will talk about the Congregation that is still the second most widespread in the world, despite the signs of a crisis, especially in the West. In fact, the crisis must actually be an opportunity for a re-launch.
He would also address the challenges to education, the role of the young people, the missionary thrust by the congregation which stretches even into difficult and dangerous countries. He would deal also with the dangers of a faith that is lived out more as a habit, without courage, irrelevant, and address the issue of sexual abuse – by clergy. Not all priests are criminals, and that it is not only in the Church that there are scandals. Not justifying, but at the same time with firmness he distinguishes the dangers of using it to attack Christ and the Church.
All of this will be broadcast next Sunday, December 5, at 8:50 pm (UTC+1) on "TV2000" (channel 28 of the Digital Terrestrial Television, channel 157 of the Sky platform), with a repeat on Tuesday, December 7 at 9 pm on "Radio InBlu".
