Romania - 25 years of Salesian presence in Constance
Constance, Romania - October 2021 - On Sunday 24 October, the Silver Jubilee of the Salesian presences in Romania and Moldavia, the houses belonging to the Province of Northeast Italy (INE), was celebrated in Constance. The Salesians arrived on the shores of the Black Sea exactly on 24 October 1996. Since then, the presence of Don Bosco in Romania has grown, reaching also Bacău (Romania) and Chișinău (Rep. of Moldavia). The Salesians of the three communities were present, including Fr Sergio Bergamin and Fr Sergio Dall’Antonia, the first two Salesians in Romania from Veneto, Italy, were present at the celebration, presided over by Msgr. Ieronim Iacob, Episcopal Vicar for Dobrogea. The event was attended by several generations of young people, animators, lay people, who over the years have passed through the doors of the oratory on a daily basis. The liturgical celebration was followed by a podcast of the Interview of the first two Salesians and Fr Venceslau Grosu, current Rector of the Constance house.
