Brasilia, Brazil - November 2021 - The history of Brasilia is closely linked to Don Bosco and the Salesians, especially due to its depiction in the missionary dream of 30 August 1883 in which Don Bosco saw the evangelizing action of his children where the city was later established. And this is how the Salesians have been present in the Brazilian capital since its beginnings 60 years ago. Now, from 27 October to 3 November, the Councilor for the America South Cone Region, Fr Gabriel Romero, visited the Salesian presence in Brasilia, which has two parishes, two schools, a Vocational Training Center, festive oratories, the headquarters of the Salesian Network of Brazil, a publishing house and the imposing Shrine dedicated to Don Bosco. During his visit, Fr Romero met some members of the Salesian Family and a group of young people engaged in a day of spiritual retreat.
