Barcelona, Spain - September 2021 - The official opening of the 2021-2022 academic year of the "Don Bosco" Higher Institute of Religious Sciences (ISCR) in Barcelona was celebrated on 29 September. The event was presided over by the Salesian Fr Jordi Latorre, ISCR Rector, representing its President, Fr Ángel Asurmendi, Superior of the Salesian Province "Spain-Mary Help of Christians" (SMX). A keynote address on the theme "The laity between synodality and discernment" was delivered by Fr. Koldo Gutiérrez, the Rector of the theologate of the Salesian Provinces of Spain. During the speech, he spoke of Synodality and Discernment as two fundamental attitudes of being and living the Church, which must guide pastors and laity on the path towards the future of world evangelization.
