Through an online meeting on the Zoom platform, the 31 participants, orginating from 13 Provinces, gathered. The purpose of the meeting was to foster coordination and synergy between these two sectors at the provincial level. The meeting also offered an opportunity to reflect on how to proclaim Christ to the youth of today.
Two reports were also presented during the meeting. The first, illustrated by Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, had as its theme: “Communicating Christ Today. A dialogue on inculturation of the Gospel in the digital habitat.” The second report, entitled “Connecting with the mentality of 'Generation Z'”, was presented by Fr Alfred Maravilla, the General Councilor for the Missions.
Later, the participants, segregated into groups, had time to reflect on the topics proposed during the meeting and to propose ideas to the assembly on the best way to reach today's young people and on what their most urgent needs are.
On the second day, the meeting was divided into sectors with the aim of defining the lines of action and the way forward for next year. All the participants appreciated the meeting convened by the two Departments and proposed to synergise the Social Communication and Missions sectors, in each of the Provinces.
