Chile - Meeting of Cardinal Aós with priests responsible for Religious Congregations present in Santiago Archdiocese
Chile - March 2021 - On March 18, Cardinal Celestino Aós, Metropolitan Archbishop of Santiago de Chile, with the auxiliary bishops, presided over an online meeting attended by about 60 priests responsible of the various male religious congregations present in the Archdiocese of Santiago, including Fr Carlo Lira, SDB, Superior of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL). The event, broadcast via Zoom, was organized by the Vicariate for Religious Life, curated by Fr Pablo Garín. During the meeting, the Cardinal said: "In this meeting we want to get closer and get to know each other, listen to each other and rejoice in what God is doing through others." In his speech, Fr Lira affirmed: "We, as consecrated, religious and Christian life in general, are prophets, and we must continue to give signs of hope for humanity, even more so in this time of crisis." The meeting ended with the words of Msgr. Alberto Lorenzelli, SDB, Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago, who said: "Religious life can make a great contribution to this Archdiocese and to the whole Church in the country."
