India - Mumbai Salesians help 7,000 poor families in slums

28 September 2020

Mumbai, India - September 2020 – In the past two weeks, the "Don Bosco Development Society" (DBDS), the Planning and Development Office of the India-Mumbai Province (INB), distributed food rations to last them one month, toiletries and hygiene kits to 7,000 poor and needy families living in the slums of Mumbai. The rescue operations were carried out by "Don Bosco Matunga", "Don Bosco Kurla", "Don Bosco Borivali", and "Mount Carmel Church Bandra". As the rescue kits were large and would have been difficult for the people to transport them, the strategy used was door-to-door delivery.
