The assembly started on day 1 with a prayer led by Fr Clive Telles [INP] with a silent remembrance of the Salesians who unfortunately succumbed to COVID-19. Regional Councillor Fr Biju introduced the assembly proceedings, welcoming the new members and providing information on the SPCSA effected appointments and transfers. The presentation of the 2019-2020 reports of the various Networks and the proposed plans for 2020-21 followed, with each Network Coordinator presenting the salient points in the allotted 20 minutes.

A common discussion on the “Effectiveness of various networks and its impact in the Provinces” was followed by “Presentation of the Youth Policy” by Fr Robert Simon; “Proposal for Migrant Ministry” by Fr Tony Pellisery; “Presentation of the New South Asia Website”, details of the podcast, and future “BOSCOM” plans by Fr Ernest Rosario; and “Status of DB Tech and Sale of DBSM” by Fr Jose Mathew.
The Assembly has also considered suggestions on redefining the geographical boundaries of the Indian Provinces with the evangelical perspective proposed by the Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of New Delhi [INN], which noted that some provinces are too big and others too small with a disproportionate distribution of confreres.
The assembly closed at 12:30 pm on Thursday 3 September.
