(ANS - Goma) - On 30 April, the Salesian "Don Bosco Ngangi" in Goma, at the eastern end of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, welcomed the Regional Councilor for Africa-Madagascar, Fr Américo Chaquisse. The reason for his visit was the inauguration of the new chapel, dedicated to St. Melchiorre, of the Salesian prenovitiate called "Boscolac", located about ten kilometers from Goma.
(ANS - Nairobi) - The International Meeting of the PDOs, the Planning and Development Offices, organizations that in recent years have assumed an ever-increasing role in the implementation of Salesian educational and development initiatives, ended in Nairobi on 27 April. The event offered numerous indications for the future journey.
(ANS - Rome) – "Nourishing oneself on truth and communicating truth means nourishing oneself on life and on communicating life." This is perhaps the best summary of the 7th Salesian Communications Days held at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome on 27-28 April. The awareness of the pitfalls of fake news and the clear-cut choice for a journalism of peace that is well anchored to the Truth represented the cornerstones that gave life to the seminar's debate and activities.
(ANS - Nairobi) - The Planning and Development Offices (PDOs) as tools to support the Provinces to bridge the gap between young people and Salesians, as structures capable of keeping Don Bosco's name high in the world, and as a vehicle for a new economic ethics in the world. This and much more was discussed on the first day of work of the third International Meeting of PDOs.
