At the beginning of the work, Fr Marcelo Farfán, Superior of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Province of Ecuador, and the Rector of the Salesian Polytechnic University of Ecuador, Fr Juan Cárdenas Tapia, will welcome those present.
Led by Fr Francisco Chimento, Coordinator of the organisational team for the Congress, this will be followed by Dr Nicolás Domingo Moretti. Sarting from his academic research, he will illustrate the fundamental theme of this second appointment.
The decisive choice for the education and moral and professional eduction of children and young people from popular sectors, the effective alliance with the Catholic ruling elite, the will to contend for public space with liberal and anticlerical sectors, and the incorporation of unprecedented cultural proposals in their pastoral work were the fundamental traits that allowed the Salesians to position themselves as a reference point in the welfare and educational field in years of profound transformations on the American continent, and which Dr Moretti will give an account of in his exposition.
Those interested in participating must register by filling out the digital form accessible at this link, and a few days before the Congress they will receive the link to connect and participate.
