18 April 2024

Cochabamba, Bolivia – April 2024 – From 11 to 13 April, 130 directors of the educational units affiliated with the Educational Network of Don Bosco Folk Schools (EPDB in Spanish) met at the Don Bosco Fátima House for Events in Cochabamba to participate in the First National Meeting of Directors of this management, organised by the Pastoral Pedagogical Technical Team, under the coordination of the National Director, Fr Alexander Sosa Vaca, SDB. The meeting is part of the Project known as "Strengthening educational quality and pedagogical culture at the primary level – EPDB, with the participation of the educational community", funded by the Swiss Salesian Don Bosco Jugendhilfe Weltweit NGO. The intervention that will be carried out in the 2024-2025 administrations has the challenge of improving the results of the evaluation of educational quality, carried out in the 2023 administration, in 69 educational units at the primary level. The Integrated Model of Educational Quality Management guides the pedagogical and didactic formation of the 350 primary school teachers who will participate in the Diploma in Didactic Innovation; 20,000 fathers and mothers will participate in workshops on the School of the Family. The directors are the leaders of these innovation processes in the educational units, therefore, they must understand and guide the pedagogical and pastoral processes that will be carried out within the framework of the project, seeking to improve the overall educational quality. This was the main focus of the meeting, especially for many administrators taking on this responsibility for the first time.
