Slovenia – All ready for start of XXX Salesian-International Youth Sports Games
Ljubljana, Slovenia - April 2019 - From 30 April to 5 May, the XXX Salesian-International Youth Sports Games "PGS-I" will be held, which will be attended by 1,200 young athletes and carers from 14 European and Middle Eastern countries. A group of underage refugees from the Postojna state asylum center will also participate. Salesians, collaborators, members of the Salesian Family and over 150 young volunteers are ready to accompany this significant event of the Salesian Province in Slovenia. The games will take place under the motto "United by the Field!" And will bring together young people, athletes, entertainers and supporters of various cultures, languages and religions. Young athletes will compete in four sports disciplines: futsal, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. During the games there will be moments of meeting prepared in the large "Valdocco" tent and special events in the evenings. Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Councilor for Central and Northern Europe Region, will also participate as will church guests and representatives of the civil authorities.
