(ANS - Rome) - Accompanied by the thought of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, the Salesian Family meets again in Turin to together deepen the journey proposed for this year through the Strenna: "'Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven' (Mt 6.10). Good Christians and Upright Citizens." From Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 January, a vast representation of the 32 groups of the Salesian Family will crowd the courtyards of Valdocco for 4 days of reflection, prayer, sharing and meeting in the joyful style of Don Bosco.

(ANS - Nairobi) -  The "Global Program Project" start-up workshop was held from 9 to 13 December at the Roussel House in Nairobi, Kenya. It is a program that aims to strengthen the Salesian offer in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the Africa-Madagascar Region. The initiative is financed by the German Federal Ministry, through the Salesian NGO "Don Bosco Mondo".

 

(ANS - Santo Domingo) - In the first week of December, the Salesian Schools Network, belonging to the Salesian Province of the Antilles, held their first "Good Pedagogical and Pastoral Practices Fair", to make known and strengthen the best examples of pedagogical and pastoral activities carried out in Salesian schools, promote significant learning and exchanging promising experiences between schools on the Net and their teachers.

(ANS - Rome) – At UPS on Monday, 25 November, the Salesian Historical Institute (Istituto Storico Salesiano), the Institute of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) and the Don Bosco Study Center organized a study seminar on the occasion of the presentation of two Epistles on Don Bosco, curated by Fr Francesco Motto and Wim Provoost.

(ANS - Rome) - On Monday 2 December the Faculty of Theology of the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) organized a seminar on inclusive youth ministry, examining the reflections raised by the Synod on young people regarding a Church and youth ministry open to all capable of living and creating open spaces.

(ANS - Brussels) - On 2 December, International Day for the Abolition of Modern Slavery, the Interreligious Conference on Trafficking in Human Beings, organized by Don Bosco International (DBI) and COMECE, was held at the headquarters of the European Parliament. (Commission of the Catholic Episcopal Conferences of the Member States of the European Union), with the sponsorship of MEP Javier Zarzalejos and the participation of MEP Pietro Bartolo.

(ANS - Lomé) – The journalists gathered in the Union of the Catholic Press of Togo (UCAP-Togo) as part of a day of spiritual renewal, last Sunday, 1 December, paid tribute to the Salesian victims of terrorism, Fr Antonio César Fernández and Fr Fernando Hernández, on the sidelines of a press conference on Salesian works in Lomé and Gbodzome.

(ANS - Tiruchy) - The representatives of the Salesian Higher Education Institutions (IUS) of the SPCSA region gathered in Tiruchy (INT Province) on November 14th and 15th to participate in a two-day National Conference on the theme: "Educating young people to transform society", a follow up on the reflection launched at the most recent Synod on Youth.

(ANS - Assisi) – In Assisi, from 24 to 27 November, the XIV Conference of the "CISI Economics" sector (Conference of Salesian Provincials of Italy) was held for Salesian Economers, Lay Coordinators of Administrative Management and Consultants, with 71 Salesians and 71 lay persons participating. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, was also present, speaking on the morning of Tuesday 26 November.

(ANS - Rome) - The Economer General's Office, together with various members of the "Don Bosco Network" and the Missions Sector, have organized an international Salesian conference on green, clean and renewable energy; its title: "Energy Forever". Taking place 26-27 November, in Rome, the conference intends to adopt Sustainable Development Goal No. 7 on clean and accessible energy and, in light of "COP25" (25th United Nations Conference on climate change, scheduled in Madrid from 2 to 13 December), focussing on the definition of a common perspective on this issue and the adoption of concrete commitments.
