Bogotá, Colombia - August 2023 - Salesians of Don Bosco, members of the Salesian Family, collaborators and lay people of the Salesian Provinces of Colombia gathered at the Niño Jesú Salesian Work to participate in the 1st Provincial Congress on the Preferential Option: memory, solidarity and human development for today's youth. Participants were able to attend various international presentations and four round table discussions on thematic programmes that addressed the importance of the Preferential Option from Governmental, Ecclesial, Academic and Historical perspectives.  The congress was the first Salesian discussion opportunity in Colombia on the Church's social doctrine and its radical option on behalf of young people from the most vulnerable communities. Undoubtedly a great opportunity to meet and think about young people, the foundation of the Salesian mission.
