(ANS - Rome) - At the General Council meeting on Thursday, 13 June 2024, the Rector Major of the Salesians, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of the other members of his Council, appointed Fr Néstor Ledesma as the new Provincial of the "Mary Most Holy Assumption" Province of Paraguay (PAR), based in the city of Asunción.

(ANS – Rome) – On June 12, 2024, the Rector Major appointed Fr. Marcello Baek SDB as the new Provincial of Korea for the next six years (2024-2030).

(ANS – Rome) – Work has begun in the summer plenary session of the General Council of the Salesian Congregation, the last "plenum" to be chaired by Card. Ángel Fernández Artime  - Rector Major In the seven weeks of work, between now and 26 July, there will be numerous work sessions to accompany the ordinary leadership and government of the entire Congregation, as well as to prepare for some important milestones in the near future, such as the conclusion of the mandate of Card. Á.F. Artime as Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the next General Chapter, the 29th of the Congregation (GC29).

(ANS – Muhazi) – The varied and multifaceted Salesian presence in the St Charles Lwanga Vice-Province of Africa Great Lakes (AGL) locates social action in favour of young people in Rwanda. The Salesians in this country carry out various works and activities and in one of their centres, Muhazi, they decided to follow the famous saying of Don Bosco "an oratory without music is like a body without a soul" by relaunching the musical training of their students.

(ANS) – A meeting between the Councils of the Educative and Pastoral Communities (EPC) and the Provincial Council of Spain's Mary Help of Christians Province (SMX) took place during the afternoon of 12 June 2024, for the fourth consecutive year in digital format,, bringing together more than half a thousand participants around the Salesians Spain YouTube channel, to take part in the programme entitled "Planet Don Bosco".
