(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian Cooperators Provincial Council of the Spanish Mary Help of Christians Province, (including the centres in Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Extremadura) concluded its service with a significant visit to the city of Rome. During their stay, the members of the Council had the opportunity to explore some of the most emblematic places from a Christian and Salesian point of view, in the Italian capital, consolidating ties and strengthening their commitment to the Salesian mission.
(ANS – Calais) – A new edition of the Salesian summer volunteering initiative was held in Calais and Guines from 6 to 20 July among the refugees welcomed there. The initiative, promoted by the Salesian VIDES NGO (International Volunteer Women in Education and Development) brought together young people and several members of the Salesian Family, together with the Secours Catholique organisation.
(ANS – Taranto) – In July, some young people from Salesian Educative and Pastoral Communities in Italy carried out a particular summer missionary experience: they made themselves available to the L 'Aquilone educating community at the oratory of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Taranto to carry out street education activities with them. The initiative has benefited many minors at risk in the social context in which the Salesian Sisters operate but also, to a large extent, the young missionaries themselves, capable of discovering new realities and opening up, thanks to this experience, to new purposes, dreams and hopes.
(ANS – Rome) – DB Tech Europe APS, a non-profit organisation that unites and coordinates the Vocational Training Centres of Europe and North Africa, has recently joined the VET EVBB network (European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training). This new membership opens up interesting prospects for the future of Salesian vocational training in Europe.
(ANS – Rome) – The 2024 Communication Conference, entitled "shaping tomorrow", will take place from 1 to 7 August 2024 at the facilities of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome. It is an initiative of the Communication Sector of the Salesian Congregation and the Faculty of Social Communication Sciences at the UPS.
(ANS - Rome) - With only a few days left before the initial deadline for short film submissions for the Don Bosco Global Youth Film Festival 2024 (DBGYFF), the world-class Salesian youth film festival, the organizing committee of the DBGYFF has decided to grant an additional week of time: the deadline has been extended, from July 31 to August 7, 2024.
