(ANS - Kolkata) – In a gathering that could shape the future of the Salesians in South Asia, the South Asia Formation Commission (SAFC) of the Salesians of Don Bosco commenced its annual meeting at the Don Bosco Provincial House in Kolkata. From 31 July to 3 August 2024, 18 formation delegates from 12 provinces across India and Sri Lanka will tackle the formidable challenges and Discuss processes of formation, striving to strengthen the Salesian foundation.
(ANS – São Paulo) – The Pius XI Theologate in São Paulo, Brazil, will host the Continental Meeting of Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation (DIAM) from all over America from 28 July to 2 August 2024. The main theme of the meeting was the 150th anniversary of the First Salesian Missionary Expedition. The memory of this event was reported as an invitation to THANK, RETHINK and RELAUNCH the Salesian missions.
(ANS – Tiruchy) – The Salesian Province of Tiruchy is set to mark a momentous milestone, celebrating the Silver Jubilee of its foundation on August 5, 2024, in Thanjavur, the historic location where the first Salesians arrived in India in 1906. The Jubilee festivities will be presided over by Rev. Fr. Stefano Martoglio, the Vicar to the Rector Major, at Don Bosco Thanjavur. The event will commence with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, featuring concelebrants such as Rev. Fr. Biju Michael, the South Asian Regional, and all the Provincials of the region. A grand cultural event will follow, showcasing the diverse mission activities of the province.
(ANS – Rome) – In the presence of the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, the World Conference on Social Communication "Shaping Tomorrow" began on time at 9 a.m. on 2 August 2024 in the Aula Magna of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS). In the room full of Delegates and communication experts from all over the Salesian world, the first messages of greeting and direction of the work resounded. "I am convinced that the digital world today is one of the indispensable challenges for the Congregation", the 10th Successor of Don Bosco shared in his introductory address.

(ANS – Korr) – Waking up every morning with a single mission: find water. This, for the communities of Marsabit, a region in the heart of the Chalbi desert, is the daily reality. We are in the north of Kenya, on the borders with Ethiopia, in a land burned by the sun, very high temperatures, constant drought: here water is the most precious asset. For the Samburu and the Rendille, two tribes that live in this region marked by great poverty and water scarcity, a drop of water can make the difference between life and death.
