(ANS – Rome) – The World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco joins the entire Salesian Family in expressing heartfelt gratitude to Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, who today, 16 August, concludes his term as Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation. In a short message, signed by the President of the World Confederation, Bryan Magro, the Past Pupils say they are grateful for the inspiration, leadership and guidance that the Rector Major has given in recent years.
(ANS - Colle Don Bosco) – As the sun set on the fourth day of the Salesian Youth Synod, the courtyard of Colle transformed into a vibrant Fair Market. The evening brought together the young participants from around the world in a joyful exchange of culture, tradition and fellowship. The marketplace buzzed with excitement as delegates eagerly displayed and exchanged souvenirs from their home countries. Each continent was represented, with tables filled with a colourful array of traditional items, Salesian mementos and unique treasures that reflected diverse cultures. The air was filled with laughter and lively conversations as participants explored each other’s stalls, collecting mementos that represented the rich tapestry of the Salesian world.
Italy - Dream Park Inaugurated at Colle Don Bosco: A Tribute to the Bicentenary of Don Bosco’s Dream
(ANS – Colle Don Bosco) - On August 13, 2024, at 9:15 a.m., Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, blessed and inaugurated “The Dream Park” at Colle Don Bosco. This significant event took place during the historic Salesian Youth Synod, marking the bicentenary of Don Bosco’s prophetic dream at the age of nine. The inauguration was a grand celebration, with approximately 370 young people from 93 countries, members of the Salesian family (SDB-FMA), and local residents, including Mr. Umberto Musso, the Mayor of Castelnuovo Don Bosco, all in attendance.
(ANS - Cuenca) - The Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) of Ecuador celebrated its 30 years of educational service with a solemn ceremony that brought together students, faculty, authorities and distinguished guests. The event, held on Wednesday, 7 August 2024 at the P. Carlos Crespi University Theatre on the Cuenca campus, was an opportunity to reflect on the results obtained and future challenges in the field of higher education.
