Romania – Salesian Youth Movement Advisory Council in Romania and Moldova

22 August 2024

(ANS – Constance) – From 18 to 21 August, the Salesian House of Don Bosco in Constance, Romania, was the meeting point for a significant experience of growth and preparation for the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) from the three Salesian places in Romania and Moldova: Constance, Bacau and Chisinau.

About thirty young people, ten from each of the groups involved, gathered to participate in the SYM Leaders Advisory Counil, accompanied by their respective spiritual leaders: Fr Fabrizio Iacuzzi for the groups in Chisinau and Brezoaia (Moldova), Fr Iosif Ilies for Constance, and Fr Andrei Laslau for Bacau. This meeting, held in a climate of fraternity and sharing, had as its main purpose the preparation of the pastoral theme for next year, which will focus on the theme of care.

The meeting was opened by the Youth Ministry Delegate for the  Mark Province of North-East Italy (INE), Fr Emanuele Zof, who led a very in-depth formation meeting, focused precisely on care, addressed from a biblical and charismatic point of view. Fr Zof offered a detailed and inspired analysis, drawing up-to-date conclusions that provided young people with a solid basis on which to reflect.

During these four days, the young people experienced intense moments of prayer, play, sharing and group work, all aimed at a common goal: the drafting of a basic text that will serve as a reference point for pastoral activities in the various Salesian works in Romania and Moldova. This text will be a valuable tool to guide the reflection of the young people who will participate in the formation meetings during the year, exploring the theme of care in all its dimensions.

The meeting was an important opportunity to strengthen the links between the different Salesian works in Romania and Moldova, creating a network of young Animators who, inspired by the spirit of Don Bosco, are ready to take care of the new generations with passion and dedication.
