The meeting’s 19 participants, representatives of the Provinces of the continent, also analyzed the chronological development of the work carried out over the years in their respective contexts. They also evaluated the different results obtained and the levels of impact generated by the shared work on the continent thanks to the new structuring of the Salesian network of Vocational Formation in America.
In general, the synergy generated by the network was highly appreciated by all present, as it allowed for greater fluidity in the sharing of the centers' experiences and innovative best practices; it guarantees a sense of belonging to a broader and more international community; it allows and encourages mutual aid; and it participates in and takes advantage of the globalization of culture, whereby young people have the same opportunities and challenges with respect to relevant issues such as the world of business and employability.
After plenary sharing, the work focused on illustrating the strategic planning and the progress made in defining the priorities of the guidelines, and the agenda for 2023, when, after the intensive itinerary developed this year, the first formal meeting in the presence of network members is scheduled.
In addition to the regular meetings of the reference persons, scheduled appointments for 2023 include a training meeting for vocational education and training educators in April, and the face-to-face meeting in October.
The testimonies of some of the provincial representatives who participated in the meeting reviewed the work done and expressed the general climate of satisfaction: "The reference to networks is generating a recognition of Vocational Education and Training and networking," said the person in charge for the Mexico-Guadalajara Province (MEM); "Forming an integrated team that orients work as a network motivates working between various countries," added his counterpart for the Central American Province (CAM).
