29 November 2023

Los Teques, Venezuela - November 2023 - As part of the Extraordinary Visitation to the Salesian Province of Venezuela (VEN), from 18 to 21 November, the Councillor for the Intermerica Region, Fr Hugo Orozco, visited the Philip Rinaldi Prenovitiate community. The Councillor had personal meetings with the Salesians, to whom he expressed the aim of meeting as brothers and encouraging the mission of the charism; "it is an opportunity to listen to and get to know the confreres" he said. He also stressed that the purpose of the meeting is to revive the faith of the community and to fulfil the Extraordinary Visitation on behalf of the Rector Major. Likewise, the prenovices shared several meetings with him, through which he encouraged them to deepen their prayer life and identify with the charism.  The students of the San José College in Los Teques also received a visit from the Councillor, who gave them the traditional "Salesian Good Morning", together with all the staff of the institute. The visit ended with a meeting of the Salesians in formation with the Prenovitiate community. There was no lack of fraternal moments of joy and closeness, as well as moments of reflection and prayer. "Today, if we want to be Salesians, we cannot think of ourselves without young people," emphasised Fr Hugo Orozco.
