Mexico - Salesians take part in the peace building forum
Mexico City, Mexico - September 2021 - On 21 September, Fr Juan Carlos Quirarte, SDB, the head of the Salesian Social America Network alongside representatives of other religions and Christian Churches, participated in the forum titled “Contributions and Actions of Religious Communities for the construction of Peace”, as part of the 3rd Inter-religious Day for Peace convened by the government of Mexico. During his speech, Fr Quirarte stressed the need for harmony between various religions and spirituality as contributor towards peace, highlighting upon also the need to widen perspectives among religious communities. With regard to the work of the Salesians of Don Bosco, he underlined the specific commitment to young people at greater vulnerability -such as: young migrants, young people in conflict with the law, disadvantaged young people and in particular those with disabilities.
