Belgium - "VIA Don Bosco" and Minister Kitir together for education of the most vulnerable
Brussel, Belgium - 24 January 2021 - On the occasion of the International Day of Education, the Salesian NGO "VIA Don Bosco", of the Belgium North-Holland Province (BEN), met online the Minister of Development Cooperation of the Belgian government, Meryame Kitir, to deliver a petition that aims to make the right to education for girls a priority in development policy. 2,337 people signed the petition and Minister Kitir gave her full support by saying: "Education is essential. In my policy, I pay particular attention to equal opportunities for girls. By funding new multi-year NGO programs such as 'VIA Don Bosco', I will continue to fight for the right to education for all, especially for the most vulnerable groups." VIA Don Bosco together with Minister Meryame Kitir is committed to ensuring that every young person, girl or boy, has access to quality inclusive education - because every young person has talents that deserve to be developed.
