Campo Grande, Brazil – January 2024 – On Saturday, 6 January, the second annual retreat for the Salesians in the Province of Brazil-Campo Grande (BCG) began in Campo Grande, led by Fr Fabio Attard, Head of the Formation of Salesians and Laity in Europe. The retreat, scheduled until Friday, 12 January  is taking place at the São Vicente Institute and brings together 39 people, including Salesian priests, brothers and practical trainees, with the accompaniment of Fr Ricardo Carlos, BCG Provincial.

Rome, Italy – January 2024 – A meeting of the Coordinating team for the National Office of Parishes and Oratories of the Italian Conference of Salesian Provinces (CISI) took place on 11 January. On the agenda was evaluation of the national seminar on the identity of the parish entrusted to the Salesians, held from 14 to 16 November 2023 in Rome. The programme was then planned to continue the reflection and study to be offered to the entire Salesian settings in Italy on this issue, and the study of the recent document on the oratory produced by the Youth Ministry Sector of the Salesian Congregation. At the end of the work, the Eucharist was celebrated at the altar of Mary Help of Christians in the church of the Sacred Heart: it was the way to celebrate the  Bicentenary of the Dream at nine years of age as a National Office. It was, in fact, at that altar that Don Bosco understood the words spoken by the "Lady of stately Appearance" he saw in the dream: "In good time you will understand everything". It was 16 May 1887, and Don Bosco still had a few months to live.

Chile – January 2023 – The Villa Feliz 2024 Salesian camps were held In Talca, under the motto "The dream that comes true, that makes you dream", from 3 to 7 January. Some 290 children and 145 young people participated, including those responsible and leaders, whose purpose was to form and entertain children in the areas near the Salesian work in Talca and the parish of Santa Ana. The Villa Feliz camps for 2024 were also held in the region of Tarapacá, from 2 to 5 January. The Don Bosco schools in Iquique and the Santo Domingo Savio schools in Alto Hospicio participated. About 80 children and teenagers were involved, mainly from the needy areas of Alto Hospicio and from the parish sector served by the Salesians. The young people worked in community and by age, accompanied by leaders who stayed with them throughout the days, providing formation, leisure and food. This evangelising experience seeks to offer the necessary spaces to develop their personal, social and spiritual growth, regardless of their origin.

Cascais, Portugal – December 2023 - During the Education Gala held in Cascais in December, 209 students and education professionals from the city's Public and Private Education network were awarded. The gala, now in its 10th edition, is a recognition of the "positive attitudes and practices of teachers, students, staff and all the educational agents who have distinguished themselves throughout the year". Among the winners are staff, teachers and students from the Salesians in Estoril.

Guwahati, India – January 2024 – The Salesian Snehalaya Home of Love Reception Centre celebrated the beginning of its silver jubilee on 6 January, with a solemn celebration presided over by Fr Januarius S. Sangma, Superior of the Province of Guwahati, who coincidentally celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination on the same day. The event was attended by numerous guests, Salesians, government officials, representatives of civil society and many young people, who were urged by Fr Sangma to recognise their talents and  embrace the opportunities that life offers. In the afternoon, after a series of artistic performances, the Child-Friendly Guwahati (CFG) program was presented, to thank all those who supported the mission of caring for the children welcomed by the institution.

Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo – January 2024 - The Salesian Family in the Province of Central Africa (AFC), presented and explored the Strenna 2024 of the Rector Major, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, entitled: "The dream that makes you dream". A heart that transforms "wolves" into "lambs". The event, which was attended by more than 900 people in the Cité des Jeunes, was chaired by Fr Guillermo Basañes, SDB, AFC Provincial, and Sister Clarisse Ngoy, FMA Provincial. Fr Placide Mukundi, Provincial Councillor and Delegate for the Salesian Family, opened the meeting, followed by a performance inspired by the theme of the Strenna performed by the young Salesians from the St John Bosco Studentate of Philosophy in Kansebula. Fr Pascal Mumba, head of the Boscolac Prenovitiate in Goma, the presented the Rector Major's Strenna 2024 in detail. Fr Basañes and Sr Ngoy wished the participants well for the new year 2024. Subsequently, the presentation of the reports from each group of the Salesian Family took place. The event ended with the Mass presided over by the Provincial and the Salesian Goodnight offered by the Provincial.
