Italy – Sanremo 2025: “Cube Radio” and “IUSVE” at the Forefront with AI Analysis of the Festival and a Special Award for Human Relations

17 February 2025

Sanremo, Italy – February 2025 – From February 10 to 16, six students from the Salesian University Institute of Venice (IUSVE), the music programmer of the university radio Cube Radio, and a collaborator from the Youth Ministry of the Salesian Province of Northeast Italy (INE) traveled to Sanremo for a hands-on digital reporting experience during the 75th Sanremo Music Festival.

This year’s edition introduced two major innovations:

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for retrospective and predictive analysis of social media trends and song lyrics.  The introduction of the “Kindness and Respect Award” by Cube Radio, recognizing individuals who have prioritized human relationships during the festival. The award was presented on February 15 to the festival’s host, Carlo Conti.

The IUSVE team collaborated with the Italian National Broadcaster -Rai, producing accessible clips that aired on Rai Play and Rai PlaySound (Rai on Demand), as well as live on Rai Radio Italian Network. They also established new partnerships to further strengthen a network focused on ethical and inclusive communication.

Additionally, Cube Radio presented its annual “Ethical Champion” award for the ethical and responsible use of social media to singer-songwriter Simone Cristicchi.
