RMG - The Mission in 5 WORDS – By the Rector Major of the Salesians

(ANS - Rome) – From today, 25 October 2023, a new format which aims to streamline the Rector Major's video messages "In 5 words" is launched. It will enable a quicker communication, which is more social and closer to young people, without distorting the content of the message but at the same time will make them more pleasant and comforting for the wider audiences.

Each topic will be expressed in the style of a challenge: that of being able to express the message in 5 salient words. The title immediately states the topic, and at the same time will convey the mood of the video. It will adapt a “chat” format. From time to time, a sidekick will provide the Rector Major with points-points to express his thoughts.

The videos will always open with a very brief moment of summary of the crux of what the Rector Major will be expressing within the video: a sort of "trailer" shot in a subjective mode which will serve not only to arouse curiosity, but also to immediately set the base for the topic to be discussed.

The first challenge is on the theme of MISSION. It will be Fr Andre Delimarta, from Indonesia and a missionary in Malaysia, who will propose to Card. Ángel FERNÁNDEZ ARTIME the 5 words to talk about MISSION: VOCATION, IDENTITY, PREPARATION, DAILY PRACTICE and MOTIVATION.
