DBYN is an international network of youth organizations and groups promoted by Salesians and operating in the Don Bosco style. The network coordinates 18 Salesian organizations from 16 countries of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Ukraine.
After the initial welcome and the presentation of the programme on the evening of Thursday 12 October, the delegates of the various organizations engaged in moments of getting to know each other on the first working day on Friday 13. This was followed by an overview and reflections on the scheduled and future activities of the Network over the next two years. Thus, it provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen relations and to create new collaborations and joint projects between the various organizations that were represented.
On Saturday, 14 October, there was a review of the status of the network, studying the reports of the various projects and activities of the groups carried out throughout 2023. Elections were also held for the positions of the new President and the new Administrative Body of the DBYN network for the three-year period 2023-2026.
Niklas Gregull was re-elected as the President Don Bosco Youth-Net, while the new Administrative Body elected consisted of the following Salesian organizations: 'Aktionszentrum AZ', from Germany; 'Bosco Base', from Belgium; 'Salesian Youth Ministry', from the UK; and 'Turismo Giovanile e Sociale APS', from Italy -which, for the first time has been nominated and elected to this position since its joining the network in 2015.
The participants had also the chance to return to the origins of the Salesian mission, through a visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the rooms of Don Bosco, housed in the Termini complex of the Salesian House of 'Sacro Cuore' in Rome.
