Jaboatão, Brazil - 28 July 2023 –The Provincial Community Feast day for Brazil-Recife Province (BRE) was celebrated on Friday 28 July at the Salesian work in Jaboatão-Colônia. A large number of Salesians, young people in formation, and lay collaborators in the mission gathered aound the Provincial, Fr Francisco Inácio. At 9 am, everyone gathered in the Basilica and Shrine of Mary Help of Christians for the solemn Eucharist. This was followed by an academy in which members from all stages of Salesian formation presented various artistic performances. This was also the time for tributes to the Salesians celebrating significant anniversaries of profession or ordination in 2023. At the end of the academy, the Provincial shared some useful information about the life of the Province and thanked all those present, especially the organisers of the day. The afternoon was dedicated to recreation, with games, music, and socialising activities, and the celebration concluded with a Marian moment in the Basilica.
