Following the request from the parents, the complex school where their children are studying is being expanded.
This request from the parents was acknowledged because, in addition to the school being small in comparison to the number of children, it is currently undergoing expansion. It is planned that by September of this year, the children will be able to return to a larger and safer learning complex.
At the conclusion of the 2023 academic year, Father Jean Bosco Ntirenganya, the Director of IFAK School, where Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School is situated, stated that the expansion of the infrastructure is a component of the Sustainable Vision plan of the Salesian administration in this region.
This plan aims to enhance the quality of education rooted in Christian values, thereby fostering the development of upright citizens who demonstrate love for God and the Nation.
Father Jean Bosco Ntirenganya stated, "Aside from the knowledge that the children gain at Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School, we have accomplished many things. As you are aware, our school has undergone a transformation from Kimihurura Nursery School, with significant improvements and additional efforts that have brought us to where we are today."
He stated, "In response to the request, we actively sought an official registration, and as a result, we received an official approval from NESA (National Examination and School Inspection Authority) last year, allowing us to operate as an accredited school. This is certainly an achievement worth celebrating."
Among other things that are being done so that the children can have a spacious and safe place to learn, including the expansion of school.
Father Ntirenganya said, "As you know, some of the children have been using the classrooms of those who study in the Nursery level. Therefore, in the month of September, those in Primary school will come to study in the designated space because the building will be ready."
"In this building there are about six classrooms, a spacious library room, a spacious Computer Lab room, and other areas related to bathrooms and sanitation," he continued.
This infrastructure, he says, is the foundation for the needs of the wider project of the salesians.
He said, "We appreciate the good management of this school led by the Sister Director and her assistants, and we also thank the parents for the good cooperation you show us. There is so much we cannot achieve without you.”
"It's not just this because our dreams are many and if we continue to work together we will achieve them," he concludes.
The project to build the Don Bosco Nursery and Primary School is a large project of the salesians of Don Bosco in the Africa of Great Lakes Province achieved with the support of the Fondazione Opera Don Bosco Nel Mondo-Lugano, Suisse and the contribution of the province.
