Santiago, Chile - March 2023 - The directors of the Salesian communities of the Chilean Province (CIL) met on March 16 and 17. Held at the Provincial House, the meeting began with the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by Fr. Gabriel Romero, Councilor for the Region of the Southern Cone of the Americas. Afterwards, the directors of the various Salesian presences in the country were introduced to the regional councilor. Fr. Romero then presented two main topics: the priorities of the Rector Major, the fruit of the 28th General Chapter, in the areas of youth ministry, formation, social communication, economy, missions and care of religious life. He then presented a summary of the reflections on the identity of consecrated Salesians that the Rector Major offered during last year's spiritual exercises with the Provincial Councils. The Provincial, Fr. Carlo Lira, presented the efforts made in the process of revising and building the new Provincial Organic Project (POI), which has since been translated into community projects. A workshop of the Formation Department was also held on this occasion. The meeting, with the participation of a psychologist from the Ignatian Spirituality Center, concluded with the presentation of some economic issues and, the next day, with the presentation of the Youth Ministry and Communication.
