The celebration was also attended by Fr Natale Vitali, Superior of the Salesian Province of Brazil-Belo Horizonte (BBH), his Vicar, Fr José Ricardo, several other priests and Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, members of the Salesian Family, Salesians in formation, deacons, seminarians, young people from vocational groups and numerous faithful.
In fact, at the same time as the institutional establishment of the parish, and even before that, the parish community of the faithful has been constituted over time. A community that, assuming the spirit of its patron saint, is committed to living its faith with a love that attracts and does not impose itself: "We must all learn this: to communicate our faith with gentleness and tenderness, because 'a drop of honey attracts more flies than a barrel of vinegar'."
In the family letter he sent for the creation of the new Salesian parish and the installation of the new parish priest, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, delivered a message full of enthusiasm and perspective: "May all the faithful of this parish, and especially the poorest young people, feel accepted and promoted in their vocation and find in this mission environment the expression of Salesian educational love, which continues to be ever alive and relevant." And again, "I hope that our presence in this particular Church, through the parish, will be a source of vocations for the Church and for the Salesian Family."
At the end of the celebration, a very significant moment was the presentation to the Bishop of a gift from the youth of the Salesian Missionary Youth of the parish of "Christ, Light of the Peoples."
"And may the intercession of St. Francis de Sales now help the parish to do everything out of love, trusting in the presence of God Love," concluded the Salesian youth, Bro. Santos Vanderlei Tonani, SDB, who was present at the celebration.
