Thibaw, Myanmar - July 2021 - Last week the Salesian pre-novitiate community of Thibaw brought food aid to 40 needy families in the area. And yesterday, 25 July, the Salesians helped twenty other families. Their service is really important to many people, because due to the pandemic and the unstable political situation, the lives of the poor have become even worse, especially in rural and mountain areas such as Thibaw. The Salesian community of Thibaw animates a large mountain parish, with several detached chapels, and is frequented by people from different ethnic groups. Also, the Salesians take care of a boarding school for students in the city who come from the villages and the two years of the pre-novitiate.
