(ANS – Bologna) – A special moment of grace experienced by the participants in the Third General Assembly of the Community of the Mission of Don Bosco (CMB), held in Bologna from 2 to 9 July, was the pilgrimage on Saturday 8 July, to the places of birth and martyrdom of the Servant of God Fr Elia Comini (1910-1944), one of the victims of the Nazi massacre at Monte Sole (Bologna). A young Salesian priest who during his life and until the end strove to be a good pastor, giving himself unreservedly to the good of his neighbour to the point of the supreme gift of life.
(ANS – Rome) – A few days after the naming of Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, as Cardinal, messages of congratulations and encouragement continue to arrive from all over the world and from numerous groups of the Salesian Family, united with the promise of prayers in support of the future Cardinal and his mission, which is increasingly becoming part of the heart of the Church. From the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) to the Past Pupils of Don Bosco, from the Salesian Cooperators to the Past Pupils of the FMA, from the Superiors of the various Provinces – especially those most linked to Fr Á.F. Artime – to the young people on the social networks, there have been many manifestations of affection and support.
(ANS – Lisbon) – WYD DON BOSCO 23, the organization responsible for the participation of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) in World Youth Day Lisbon 2023, will be present in two distinct areas of WYD, between the 1st and 4th of August: the Youth Festival, with activities located in various places in Lisbon; and the Vocation Fair in Belém.
(ANS – Melbourne) – The full size statue of Don Bosco containing his first-class relic arrived at the Salesian Province Centre in Melbourne on 4th July 2023 as part of the Centenary celebrations of the arrival of Salesians in Australia. On the weekend of 8-9 July, the relic statue made the first pilgrimage to St Joseph’s church in Collingwood to be officially welcomed into the Province. The newly renovated church was packed with many pilgrims, especially from Vietnamese backgrounds, to welcome St John Bosco to Australia over the weekend.
(ANS – New Delhi) – The first meeting with the Voices Project, conceived and promoted by the Social Communication Sector of the Salesian Congregation, led by Fr Gildasio Mendes, will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 12 July in New Delhi, India. It is an initiative that has as its fundamental purpose to listen, and amplify the silent and unheard cries of young people, and respond to them as a Sector, providing these young people with the platform, support and accompaniment they need.
