Cochabamba, Bolivia - September 2023 - More than 200 members of the Salesian Family of Bolivia took part in the 2nd Salesian Educational Congress held in Cochabamba, at Don Bosco Fátima from 31 August to 2 September. They were three days of intense reflection on the three pillars of Don Bosco's Preventive System and its practical horizon for the Salesian educational context in Bolivia. The event had national and international Salesian facilitators such as Salesian Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga from Honduras, Fr Miguel Núñez from Spain, Fr Claudio Cartes from Chile and the Rector Major's Central Delegate for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family, Fr Joan Lluís Playà. The event had panels, conversations and working tables, animated and was organised by the reflection of lay people and members of the Salesian Family. The first day had a social and shared responsibility focus by the Salesian Family in the human formation of young people today. The second day saw a process of reflection on Salesian accompaniment in the Christian formation of the young. And the last day aimed to open the concrete horizon of the Salesian educational context in Bolivia, both at the institutional level of Educative and Pastoral Communities, and accompaniment at the heart of the Salesian educator who follows a life project. The atmosphere experienced throughout the congress was one of great familiarity and joy, enlivened by the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Salesian Province of Bolivia. Now dreams remain, as a challenge to educational reflection every three years, to continue to improve Salesian education for young people in Bolivia and in the environments and sectors of the Province.

The Pope took the opportunity "to thank the catechists for their valuable work and to wish the boys and girls attending catechism the joy of meeting Jesus."
